You just do not know what a manufacturer will produce that you will buy and try to fire. Regardless of caliber or where the loaded round came from, I chamber check all ammunition that I fire in my guns. It removes the bump and all cartridges I reload will then chamber check properly before being fired a second or more time.

I use a Redding G-RX full resizing die before reloading the 40S&W brass in my reloading machine. The issue causes some reloading of the ammunition to not get fully re-sized in the reloading of the ammunition the second time around depending on how it is reloaded. The high pressure of the 40&W cartridge does cause the cartridge to expand slightly in the unsupported area of the chamber of the unsupported barrel. The 9MM and 45ACP are in the high 19-20K PSI range and do not have this issue. The 40S&W cartridge is a High Pressure round with more than 35,000 PSI when it goes bang. The unsupported chamber will feed easier into the barrel for a gun that has loose tolerances to insure functionality across the board with mixed and not precision parts when assembled.

Aftermarket barrels are made so that the feed ramp goes straight up to the chamber. The unsupported part is above the feed ramp into the chamber where the bullet sits when fired. The 40S&W Glock guns have an unsupported chamber in all of the factory barrels.
